Coaching Process

WHAT IS COACHING? 

Coaching is different from therapy, counseling and advising — Coaching is a partnership designed to bring out your best creatively and with the intention of achieving measurable results.

 

WHAT IS SPIRITUAL NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING? 

 

Spiritual Nutritional Counseling is also a partnership – with the understanding that Susan has the knowledge and training to take you closer to an ideal nutritional life style based on healthy vegan live foods.  In this relationship Susan may play the role of mentor, educator, and coach with the intention of achieving measurable results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are both responsible for creating a powerful coaching relationship which will support you in achieving clarity, mastery, and satisfying results.

Coach Responsibilities:

  • Focus on helping you achieve your goals.  Help you stretch, move out of your comfort zone, and form new habits and patterns of thinking so you can shift how you feel, what you do, and the results you get.
  • Taking notes and keeping a log of our sessions.  
  • Challenge you and make requests of you to maximize your results.
  • Test your patterns, thinking, and perceptions — Hold you accountable.
  • I will be trustworthy and supportive, always envisioning your best results and championing in your victory.

Client Responsibilities: 

  • Be committed to change and open to new possibilities, allowing the coaching process to be powerful.
  • Test your assumptions and deal with obstacles as they arise.
  • Will be open up, honest and trusting — be willing to say, I do not want to talk about this now.
  • Have paper or keyboard ready to take notes during the sessions.  You will be coming up with insights, ideas, and actions steps that you will want to record.
  • Keep a journal or email insights to coach as needed or desired.
  • Be on time – start the session with the phone or skype call.  This demonstrates commitment to the process.
  • Do what you say you are going to do.
  • Share relevant information.
  • Make request immediately when you needs are not met or if something in your gut wants to speak.


ADMINISTRATIVE DETAILS

DURATION: 45 minutes on average.  I will schedule a one-hour slot for your session to allow for a little overflow.  If session requires more time we will determine if we will deduct time from the next session or if you will be charged to cover the time expense.

SCHEDULING: A twenty-four hour notice by either of us by phone or email is required for rescheduling or canceling an appointment.  If you miss an appointment without 24-hour advance notice, you will be charged.  Rescheduling with 24-hour notice results in no extra charge.  If I cancel with less than 24-hour notice – I will give you a free session.  If you are late for the appointment – the session will still end as scheduled.  I will wait 15 minutes from the time as scheduled before considering the appointment as missed.  Two "no-shows" or cancellations without rescheduling indicate the termination of the coaching relationship.

SUPPORT:  I will provide a 24-48 hour turn around time on business day on any emails you send.  I will notify you in advance if there are times when I will not have email access.  Please make it clear in your message if you want me to respond or if you are just providing me with information that does not require a reply.

PAYMENT: Sessions are paid at least one week in advance — packaged sessions are paid one week before the first session.  Payments can be made by check in the mail or by credit or debit card using PayPal. 

COACHING CONTRACT: Please sign and keep a copy for yourself and return the original to me (or scan and email.)

I am required to log my coaching hours per the International Coach Federation (ICF) requirements for certification.  I will be reporting your name and the number of hours of coaching services I provided.  ICF could choose to verify the information and request that I release your contact information so that they can contact you.  This rarely happens – and I will not be sharing any of the content of our sessions with ICF.
